I hate leaving bad reviews but I was really left quite shocked by our experience with The Home Rental Company. We are a young family with two kids who urgently needed to find a place to rent. Prior to viewing we stated we didn't want to waste anyones time - that we had a family so that needed to be ok with the prospective landlord, that we needed somewhere immediately. We viewed a property, loved it, and immediately drove to the office to show all the appropriate documents and sign a contract. On leaving the office I noted to my parter how helpful and friendly all the staff had been.Just before close of play that day, we had email confirmation that the landlord agreed to offer us a tenancy. The following morning we had to travel to the South Coast of England for my partners Mums funeral before heading to France to collect our belongings from our home there. On the drive down we received a call from the agency saying we were no longer able to rent the property as the landlord had decided to rent it to someone he knew. Over the course of the phone call we were given various excuses which morphed and changed as the conversation progressed. We just couldn't believe it. We tried to get a straight answer during the phonecall and were just left confused. We accept that until they had received our 200 holding deposit the property was to still allowed to be advertised and viewings to take place. We had planned to make the transfer that day (less than 24hrs after viewing the property), given that it was a Friday, who knows if it would have shown on their accounts til Monday. If we had made this payment, would they have honoured us at the tenants or still let it go to this other mystery couple, who, at one point during the phonecall, had apparently already paid their holding deposit. If so, why were we even shown the property or at least told there was another prospective tenant whose deposit was on the way? We had specifically asked during our visit whether there had been much interest. Did this payment from this couple appear in the 24hrs between us seeing the property and being told we could no longer rent it? Did the landlord change his mind? If so why? Both my partner and I are good earners and home owners with perfect Experian scores - there would have been no issue with credit checks. Regardless of what went on, the way it was handled was morally wrong and the gentleman who made the phonecall to us was very unprofessional.As such, we had a van and ferry booked for France to pick up furniture we had no where to put, and a family with no where to live. Nursery and school plans were messed up, Christmas plans had to change etc etc. I would never use the Home Rental Company again.

Unfortunately I cant give no stars! This company are very quick to take your money, but ask them for your deposit back and they have no interest! Nearly 4 months and a solicitors letter later I am finally getting my deposit back! Avoid this company if you want your deposit back without having to spend time and money!
My wife and I have had no issues with Home Rentals. They have been friendly and helpful from day one of our tenancy and I would have no problem in recommending them to others.
Where do I Start....If I could give 0 Stars I would.For anyone looking to rent in Carmarthen stay well away from The Home Rental Company. They're Staff are incredibly rude, arrogant and are complete Liars. In my 22 Month Tennancy with the Home rental I had numerous problems which started on day 1 of the Tennancy and continued until I left the Property. They will lie to you to get you to sign for the Property and then deny all knowledge of any promises. They will not sort out issues you have with the property and will not allow you to have access or contact with the Landlord. Leon the Property Maintenance Manager is a absolute Joker, consistently caught out lying about numerous issues which when he was found out he then had the Managing Director of the Company send a letter to Me explaining Leon's Lies as missed typing. When on inspections He said he would do numerous things to help get issues resolved yet as soon as he gets back to the office just emails you telling you the issues are because of things you are doing E. G Mold, Damp from drying clothes in house or having curtains Closed too much. When you try and get things sorted they will just ban you from the office claiming your being threatening yet you have full proof that your not. In the end I had to get Environmental Health involved who set out specific things for the Landlord to carry out, with the Property having High Category 2 Hazards ( in perspective Cat 1 would be ceiling falling down etc)Home Rental made me live in this Property with my Young Son which had dangerous and hazardous Conditions which they were unwilling to sort, would rather just argue over email and lie. For anyone looking at these please stay Clear. They will take your money and have Zero interest if you have any issues.
