We stopped at Hobbs Bikes for a couple of basic items not long before the shop was due to close, and also enquired whether it was safe to cycle along the A40 to St Clears. Unasked, the owner then closed the shop on the dot of 5pm, fetched his bike and led us about a mile through a maze of cycle paths, road crossings, car parks and the footbridge over the Towy to the Old St Clears Road, and explained in detail how we should reach the path (not easy), and where to cross the carriageway. This was enormously helpful and quite beyond the call of duty. Hobbs bikes has gathered some poor reviews due to Mr Hobbs' approach to customers, he but could not have been more helpful to us and we would definitely recommend. Just be polite!
Most unpleasant proprietor with a most unfortunate attitude, customer service is abrupt and very abrasive.
Very disappointing telephone customer service with shop owner Mr Hobbs today after otherwise good business relations since 1990. Mr Hobbs attitude on the phone enquiry was so cavalier that I feel I cannot represent my local bike shop anymore, my only question was a guide price for very basic work required to a very modern pro series mountain bike, an hourly rate would have been most guiding/helpful, instead Dyfrig Hobbs stated "don't bloody bring the bike down here if you need to know the price".
