As I live only two miles away ideal to walk the dogs.
Great woodland trust site.I've been a WT volunteer when I lived in the UK before. This is a great site, a real mix of streams down to the river, ancient woodlands, recently planted young trees, open meadows. I visited on a dank autumnal day, but I can just imagine the snow drops, bluebells and garlic here, then the meadow flowers.
Lovely place for a walk. Only let down by there being no pooh bins anywhere as we were with our doggy friend! Thinking about it, no bins at all! Loads of good trails to follow of a wide variety of distances, we ended up doing a good 2 hours walk without really intending to but was most enjoyable anyway as we had a little picnic with us. That was another minor let down actually, no picnic benches anywhere, just a couple of hard to find benches. Here's a photo of the trails there that some might find useful to see before visiting. Way markers looked a like tired and un-cared for but still easy enough to follow.
Lovely walk here with the dogs on a sunny Sunday morning, we took the route across the road from the car park that was across varied terrain going from boardwalk to steep hills, wouldn't reccomend for wheelchair users but did see people with buggies tackling the walk, could be pretty muddy during the winter and a shame other dog owners can't be bothered cleaning up after their dogs like other responsible dog owners do.
